Clean glasses? Our advice

I nostri consigli I nostri consigli

If the glass is satin, decorated, engraved, printed or reflecting
(Pinstriped, Multipoint, Scratch, Bubble, Pavé and Chinchillas): dust the glass with a soft cloth;
wash with water mixed with neutral silicone-free detergents for glass; rinse and dry immediately
with a clean, soft cloth, preferably in microfibre, passing it always in the same direction.

I nostri consigli I nostri consigli

If the glass is sandblasted (Damo, Spyro and Flutes):
dust the glass with a soft or semi-hard brush made of natural bristle or synthetic fibre
(attention: the brush should not be metal or abrasive); wash with water mixed with neutral
or castile soap, dissolved in water; rinse and dry immediately with a microfibre
or chamois cloth, passing it always in the same direction.

I nostri consigli I nostri consigli

If the glass is enamelled:
dust the glass with a soft, clean cloth; wash with a solution prepared with 70% warm water
and 30% alcohol; rinse and dry immediately with a clean, soft cloth, preferably in microfibre,
passing it always in the same direction. It is important not to use chemicals or abrasive
scouring pads that could damage or scratch the enamel surface.

Other details? A natural cleanser can also be used to clean glasses, homemade with 1 litre of lukewarm water, half a glass of white wine vinegar and half a glass of alcohol: pour the solution into a "spray" and use it instead of commercial detergent, rinse and dry the glass.

To prevent the formation of speckles and streaks after drying the glass, water with a high concentration of limestone must not be used and do not clean glasses when the sun is shining. To clean small or medium-sized surfaces, one can choose between microfibre or chamois cloths, or newspaper, usually the most widely used, since it ensures thorough cleaning without streaks and residues.
